LASH APPLICATION AND CARE

Before your appointment

Shower prior to your appointment.

eliminating any unnecessary contact with water or steam within the first 48 hours will insure that the bond between the semi permanent lashes and your natural lashes has enough time to properly set.

Wear comfortable clothing.

you will  lay  down for 60 to 90 minutes with dimmed lights and soft music as your backdrop during your eyelash application, comfortable clothes will allow you to make the most of this time to relax and be pampered.

Remove your contacts.

your eyes will be closed during the application of your eyelash extensions,  to avoid any discomfort, it is always suggested that contacts are removed allowing eyes to be comfortable in a natural and rested state.

Turn off your cellphone just prior to your appointment.

this is truly a time to sit back and relax. ringing cellphones will only interrupt your treatment. enjoy the “me” time, and let your lash transformation begin.

Please remove all makeup.

makeup products worn close to the eye will need to be removed prior to the lash application process. coming to your appointment with a clean face will save time and eliminate the need for you lash stylist to remove your eye makeup.

Apply face creams or sunblock to the eye area.

the oils within many moisturizers and sunblock can prevent the eyelash glue from properly adhering to your natural lashes, dramatically reducing the longevity of your eyelash extensions.

Wear mascara.

lashes must be fresh and clean in order to be properly prepped to receive eye lash extension.  no mascara!

Wear large or dangly earrings.

the lash application process requires you to lay with your head propped on a comfortable support pillow. large or dangly earrings can often get in the way making it difficult for you to remain comfortable during the complete application time.

Curl your lashes on the day of your lash application.

we need your eyelashes to be in the most natural and healthy state they can prior to your lash extension application.  please do not curl your eyelashes, or use any other manipulation on them the day of your appointment.

The Application Process

The application process is pain-free and relaxing. Clients can relax, rest and even fall asleep during the process.

Client lies comfortably on the beauty bed, ensure the client is warm and offer a blanket. Tape will be applied to the bottom lashes to keep the lashes out of the way during application. Client closes the eyes and relaxes. Eyelash extensions are applied to each individual natural eyelash one at a time, depending on your experiences and the amount of lashes needed. The application time generally takes between 60 – 90 minutes. Touch ups can be done in around 30 minutes.

Why do you recommend using different, progressing lengths of eyelash extensions?

In order to provide your clients with a natural look and feel.The shortest lashes should go on the interior corner of the eye, the longest lengths towards the middle, and intermediate lengths towards exterior corner of the eye.

How many eyelashes are used for each application?

Determined by the fullness preferred by the client, the length should also be taken into consideration. Each client will desire a different look. This should be determined in consultation. Generally the most basic look 40-50 lashes are needed on each eye. For a full glamorous set you can use 60 or more eyelashes per eye.

aftercare

• Be gentle. Do not rub or pull on your eyelash extensions.

• Keep your Eyelash Extensions dry for 4-6 hours after your appointment.

• You may wash your face in the sink using a washcloth, avoiding the eye area.

• Keep all oil based products away from the eyes and remember that everything on your face will travel to the eye area.

• Oil WILL breakdown the adhesive and you will have premature lash extension loss.

• Your hands can get dirty, and dirt is oily, so you’ll want to keep your fingers off your eyes unless cleansing.

• Lash tinting will need to be done 24-48 hours before your lash fill appointments.

• No perming the lashes!

• No saunas, facials, or swimming within 4-6 hours of application.

• Do not stick your head in the oven when baking! It can singe your extensions! Turn your head away from the oven when putting anything in or pulling anything out.

• Do not use Eyelash Curlers.

• You should be careful and take specific care with makeup and remover.

• Do not use cotton on your lash extensions.

• Wash your lashes daily (after the initial 4-6 hours).  Apply oil-free makeup remover with your fingers, rubbing gently down the lashes.

• Or you may apply oil-free makeup remover to your lashes using a disposable mascara wand. Spray onto wand, brush through lashes gently, and rinse with warm water.

• Do not attempt to remove any lashes on your own, call us for an appointment.

• Brush your lashes daily.
